Jaroslav Charvot finished his Master´s studies in Organic chemistry in 2018. He defended his diploma thesis on the topic of "Organic selenium compounds as precursors for atomic layer deposition" under guidance of F. Bureš. Subsequently, he pursued doctoral studies and successfully defended his dissertation work entitled "Organic selenium compounds and their modern applications" in 2022. In 2019, Jaroslav spent three months at the University of Helsinki, getting first insights in the ALD under guidance of prof. Mikko Ritala and later in 2021 he participated on research of Sb2Se3 thin film deposition for photovoltaic applications in prof. Julien´s Bachmann group at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg (seven months).

Scientific Activities

Jaroslav works on development of volatile molecules utilized in thin film deposition technologies. Currently, Jaroslav´s main goal is to explore compounds of bismuth and antimony with possible application in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) technology within the project THERMOS. His work also consists of preparation of selenides, tellurides, phosphides, and other materials interesting in material sciences.
