Jan Podlesný recieved Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry (2014) from the Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice under guidance of F. Bureš. His diploma thesis was focused on 3,6-disubstituted 2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrol-1,4-dione derivatives. Starting from October 2014 he began his Ph.D. studies within our group and defended his dissertation entitled Conjugated compounds based on condensed thiophene derivatives in 2019. During his doctoral studies (from April 2015 to April 2016), he was awarded an ICGS fellowship at NIMS, Japan. From 2018 to 2026, he was employed at Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice, Czech Republic as Assistant Professor. He rejoined the Bures group in 2026 as an administrative and scientific support and official Czech open-faced sandwich carrier (eater).
